About Me: I first started bowling when I was 18. At 21 I start bowling the ABT Bay Area Chapter, then I was injured and let my arthritis get the best of me and I stopped, because it just huurt too much. So after a 8 year break, I came back in to bowling about 3 years ago. Its not the same in both the mechanics of my body and the sport of bowling itself. But I still do love this game.
Music: Tool, Slipknot, Disturbed, Garbage, Otep, Kittie, Stone Sour...just about anything METAL! \m/
Movies: Comedy and action. Animal House, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Blade, Old School
TV: Comedy and action. 24, Heroes, The Simpsons, South Park, The Deadlist Catch, Prison Break and America's Funniest Home Videos
Likes: Vodka...not that grain crap, but good Polish Potato Vodka, Beer, Ribs. People who DON'T rubber neck.
Dislikes: People who complain! People who use cell phones when they are checkout at the grocery store or in line at McDonalds. And dirty refridgerator.
Hobbies: Bowling...and when I am not bowling, I like to watching movies, work on my home theater, fishing, computer gaming and BBQ/Smoking!
Vices: Speeding! I really should slow down, but its so much fun!
Virtues: Don't smoke or do drugs...never have and never will.
Heroes: My favorite Superhero is Batman. I mean he is just a normal guy with lots of gadgets. Followed real close by The Green Lantern. In real-life...my daughter. It amazing how much you love life after you have a little one to help you re-invent the simple things in life. Ever spend an hour or two playing with the grass or looking at bugs?

    Hurt Squad Monthly - April

Monday, April 28, 2008, 01:49 PM EST [General]

Well, the Hurt Squad monthly shoot-out for April has come and gone.  And while on its way out, it left me a few dollars.  I started the day with my Cell shooting a 9 spare, 7 count split (leaving the 2-8-10) taking 2, and then a repeat split; for 2 opens in a row.  Then another split in the 10th (leaving the 6-7) for a 177 game.  Good job!  Move lanes and a ball change to my Gamebreaker...let's see what happens now.  How about a carbon copy of the first game?  9 spare followed 2...count 'em...2 identical splits as the first game.  Thinking I am completely out of the money and brackets, I made a monster move and start throwing about 16-18 board swinging out to the 4-6.  What do you know a strike, then another one...how about a third?  Yep!  I ended up punching out for a 244!  Wow!  A couple more of these and I am back in it.  Yeah right.  I have never thrown back to back 240+ games.  But wouldn't you know another 244.  WOW!  I am now sitting +59 after 3 game with one more to go.  I finish the 4th game with a 206 for a 4 game total of 865; placing myself in the 9th position of a 16 person bracket final.

Won the next 2 rounds, which put me in the semi-finals round; and that's where I meet my match.  But it came down to the second ball in the 10th in order to find a winner.  We were tied going in to the 5th then he opened.  I couldn't capitalize on that, but was able to spare.  From there the lead grew and it looks as though I was going win this one, then the shots that everybody dreads happened to me.  I beautiful release, hit my mark, the ball in coming in and BOOM!!!  A 7-10 in the 9th!  OUCH!!  Then another beautiful shot for my  first ball in the 10th, and I leave a wiggling 10 pin.  Well, like I said I finished out but couldn't shut him out.  He punched out the 10th to beat me by 9 pins.  Great match!

I went in 10 brackets, won 1 and placed 2nd in 7 of them.  That was a lot of bowling for a couple of bucks.  But it was much better then a punch in the face, and I will take a little win over no win at all.

On to the next tourney on my agenda, the PBA Experience at Ocean Lanes on May 4th.

Actually living here in tucson most balls are drilled for a short dry shot just because lanes tend to dry out extremely fast my go to ball on extremly dry conditions is cracked and I have not gotten it fixed so that is part of my frustration but most of my arsenal is drilled long with a heavy back end or later rolling lay outs my nv is more skid flip but seems to be too much ball when it's that dry if you have any recomendations please let me know..

That is my biggest concern that I have voiced, is him having his card and not being able to bowl certain leagues or tournaments. The main tournaments we bowl in are called Calcuttas, and they do allow past/present card holders. But he still has some college to finish, and I'm worried if he gets his card now, he might not be able to bowl on certain leagues. And good gosh, that would just kill him. Thanks for your comment. I'll definitely continue to voice it and maybe push for him to do the regional before sending the card form off.
